Children's Administration is currently recruiting for a dynamic, motivated and culturally competent Social Service Specialist 4 – Child Protective Services Supervisor within the Division of Children and Family Services Office located in Everett, Washington.

You'll provide supervision to a unit of Social Service Specialists who provide professional level social service to clients of the Child Protective Services Program. You will supervise the delivery of specialized case management, specifically assessments and interventions.

Some of what you'll do:
  • Evaluate training needs of staff; provide training, and guidance to staff on program requirements and policy
  • Ensure casework management directives required by law, policy, and other mandates are met
  • Provide guidance on understanding and respecting the strengths of families including their heritage, cultural beliefs and values, communication and learning styles while focusing on child safety and wellbeing
  • Adhere to the tenets of the Child Safety Framework
  • Utilize personnel policies and procedures to hire effectively, monitor for performance, take corrective action and complete disciplinary actions
  • Complete monthly reviews of worker's case records
  • Provide clinical supervision to include giving direction of assessing safety and risk of children.
  • Conduct and complete employee's Performance and Development Plans
  • Ensure documentation requirements for accurate and timely entries into FamLink

Who should apply?
Professionals with Two years of experience as a Social Service Specialist 3;
OR
Four years of experience as a Social Service Specialist 2;
OR
A Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field and six years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2;
OR
A Master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field and four years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2. A two year Master's degree in one of the above fields to that included a practicum may be substituted for one year of paid social service experience.

Experience must include two years of assessing risk and safety to children and providing direct family-centered practice services (strengthening and preserving family units).

Degrees must be obtained from an accredited institution.
