Job Description: Under the guidance of the Health Officer, this position directs the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of environmental health services within the public health department. This position is responsible for supervising environmental health staff and overseeing day to day office operations. Responsible for managing environmental health programs and assuring all measurable FSL Agent and environmental health program and grant outcomes are achieved. Assumes statutory duties of Health Officer when appointed. Job Responsibilities: 60.00% - Supervise and direct the duties of the environmental health staff. Coordinate daily office operations, environmental health community events, and staff calendars to effectively accomplish department goals. Maintain registered sanitarian role in the department as needed. 20.00% - Assist the Health Officer in administrative responsibilities and enforcement of state and local Public Health statutes. Assure staff maintains adequate and appropriate training and licensure. Review and update policies and procedures. 10.00% - Develop and maintain community partnerships. Develop an active role in environmental health activities and initiatives. 5.00% - Assist in grant writing and assure timely and adequate reporting on grant objectives. 5.00% - Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Education - Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in environmental health, physical or biological sciences or related science degree. Must have Registered Sanitarian (RS) license in the state of Wisconsin. Functions as the Health Officer"s designee when enforcing regulations.

~ Ability to persuade, convince, and/or train others, including the ability to act as a team member or in a leader. Ability to advise and interpret how to apply policies, procedures and standards to specific situations. Provide consultation to non-environmental health staff on environmental issues as needed.
