The purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day finance and accounting function for the Facilities Management Services for a large Fortune 500 company. Responsible for managing a broad range of financial analysis and reporting activities ensuring financial results are accurate, procedures are documented, deadlines are met, strong relationships are built and books are closed in a timely and efficient fashion. Site/Region financial support includes client financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and savings analysis. This role will report to the Sector Director of Finance and have direct oversight over four Senior Financial Analysts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Controllership, Finance & Accounting activities:
Drive monthly financial close, reporting, performance process

Perform effective and thorough reporting, accrual, and variance analyses

Ensure effective field financial team structure

Deep understanding of standard accounting principles / ensure GAAP compliance

Comprehensive knowledge of contract terms to ensure 100% compliance

Drive innovative best practices in all aspects of the accounting and financial arena

Deliver timely and effective financial results to corporate, account and client leadership

Ensure purchasing process and systems are operating efficiently and in compliance with policies – i.e., POs, invoices, matching

Prepare, conduct and support regular and adhoc internal and client meetings

Own and drive an effective, bottoms up forecast and budget process, provide effective understanding of financial results

Provides support to operation teams on all financial requirements

Partner with and support operations teams on financial priorities, deadlines, and client financial reviews

Liaison with other functional areas to support the account’s broader financial objectives

Coordinate special project requests and ad hoc reports

Work to mitigate financial and identify operational risks

Foster strong relationships by doing what you commit to, actively invest in others, having appropriate and transparent communications and with a customer service attitude

Supervise, coach, motivate and evaluate staff

Commercial Savings Glidepath and Baseline:
Maintain comprehensive and intimate knowledge of contract and terms

Own overall baseline and savings technology and process including identify, validate, track and verify

Ensure operational financial activities surrounding baseline and savings are in compliance with contract

Additional Critical Responsibilities:
Recruiting and developing a highly capable finance team; measure quality, effectiveness and development of the Finance personnel and organization

Continually refine and improve current methods and business processes to improve productivity and accuracy and improve communication

Qualifications and Skills

Requires strong analytical and quantitative skills that goes beyond just working with numbers – ability to know how to problem solve, suggest solutions and how to show / communicate the data to different audiences. Able to ascertain appropriate content and format for these audiences

Strong commercial, analytical & negotiation skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a intense environment with high flexibility and rapid response time

Excellent analytical , quantitative and presentation skills

Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in making decisions and resolving complex problems related to general and technical aspects of the job

Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

Ability to create presentations, write reports, manuals, communications using clear and crisp style

Design and display of Information : Design, generate, review, and understand reports. Create presentations and other client facing materials. Presentation elements may also include maps, charts, tables, illustrations, and other features using generally available programs

Highly collaborative in a team environment

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent to appropriate 4-year college program in finance, accounting or related subject; Masters considered a plus

10+ years of experience in field of general accounting AND comprehensive knowledge and understanding of general accounting functions, or any similar combination of education and experience

4+ years of supervisory experience. Must have demonstrated ability to motivate and work with a team, train personnel, and handle complex employee issues confidentially and fairly

CPA or other applicable certification considered a plus

Advanced experience in Excel / expert / (pivots, lookups, sumifs, index, match other advanced formulas, goal seek, ranges, ability to determine creative structures to pull data together, eye for formatting/presentation)

Intermediate to heavy experience in Microsoft products specifically in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Peoplesoft and Oracle financials, Business Intelligence systems / dashboards, planning and forecasting system
